* Will Young heads up the cast of Cabaret which swings into town next week. Alongside his ongoing pop career, Will has been building up an impressive acting CV which saw him appear alongside Dame Judi Dench in the film Mrs Henderson Presents.

Running at the New Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday, Cabaret has won a staggering number of stage and screen awards including eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and 13 Tonys and features show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes and some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre. * Paul Foot is a true original. * Pegasus is taking part in The Family Arts Festival, a national event in which they have created three shows with local, young people. Food For Thought is a unique stage production directly translated from the music album The Journey, which has been interpreted by young people at Blackbird Leys CDI to capture the highs and lows of life in inner cities.

* Reins is a musical piece which includes collaborations by young local artists at The Oxford Academy School, Rockschool, and BG. The final event is the immensely popular Baby Boogie which does what it says on the tin, following a short workshop led by a professional dance tutor. They run concurrently from tomorrow to Sunday. *  Alexander Armstrong can sing. Who’d have guessed? Fresh from ITV’s Your Face Looks Familiar, the comedian, presenter and writer comes to Oxford’s Playhouse on Monday with his band to introduce us to the songs he loves, from jazz and rock to pop delights.
