* Millets Farm Centre has been home to some top entertainment this half-term week, paying host to John Lawson’s Circus. From seat-grabbing sword stunts to classic clowning around, this is family entertainment at it's best, and the fun continues four times a day until Sunday. Tickets can be booked online at milletsfarm.digitickets.co.uk for £5.99 per person.

* A new foot-tapping performance hits the Playhouse this evening with Break The Floorboards. It follows Zain, who dreams of escaping his jobless hometown and less than supportive family to become a dancer. The show is a collision of Bollywood acting and street dance, culminating in a feel-good play for all ages to enjoy. Tickets cost £17.50, with a cheaper price of £10 for the performance on Saturday afternoon; book online at oxfordplayhouse.com or call 01865 305305.

* Horror meets humour in The Shop Of Little Horrors at the North Wall theatre. Continuing until Saturday, this show follows the eerie exploits of ventriloquist and novelty craftsman, Grimlake. Masks, props and puppets bring his emporium of horrifying handiwork to life. Joined by an unknowing apprentice called Eric, Grimlake exposes the secrets of his spooky shop with suitably gruesome consequences. Book, if you dare, for £13 at thenorthwall.org or call 01865 319450. A limited number of £5 student tickets are also available.

* For a magical menagerie of less horrific proportions, meet Morgan and West, who will bring their exceptional sorcery to the Old Fire Station in George Street, Oxford, on Tuesday, along with a few of their enchanting friends. Minds will be read, impossibilities realised and good times had by all in this regular conjurers’ showcase. Need another reason to come? These magicians are also time travelers. Presuming you’re now sold, get a ticket at oldfirestation.org.uk for £8.50.

* And finally, for those of you who like a bit of brass, the Oxford University Brass Band and the City of Oxford Silver Band (National Finals Qualifiers 2013 no less) are presenting an evening of music including original brass band works and classical and popular arrangements at St Barnabas Church, Jericho, tomorrow evening at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 and £4 and are available on the door.
