* An Evening of Burlesque will be showcased tonight at the New Theatre. Direct from London’s West End, Europe’s biggest touring burlesque show promises corsets, killer heels and stockings aplenty. Above all, this is tease rather than sleaze; a glamorous celebration of couture costumes and pure, frivolous fun. Among the stars on the circuit are leading lady Amber Topaz, smouldering quartet the Folly Mixtures and cabaret queen Ivy Paige. Book tickets for £24 at atgtickets.com or call 0844 871 3020.

* You can still catch Lenny Henry starring in Fences at the Oxford Playhouse. In lead character Troy Maxson, playwright August Wilson created one of 20th century America’s most captivating literary figures; Henry’s performance as the ex-athlete denied of his dreams is unmissable. The play closes on Saturday. Buy tickets online starting at £16.50 at oxfordplayhouse.com or call 01865 305305.

* Comedian Josh Widdicombe will charm Didcot on Saturday with a dose of gentle sarcasm and left-wing observations. The quirky comic has tickled audiences supporting Stephen Merchant, Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr – his latest show, The Further Adventures of Josh Widdicombe is sure to win him a new legion of fans. He appears at The Cornerstone. Tickets are available from the venue’s website, cornerstone-arts.org, or by calling 01235 515144.
