Simon Pegg reprised his role as Harry Potter’s Ron Weasley for Jimmy Fallon, for an early celebration of Harry Potter’s birthday.
The Mission: Impossible star played the part of a drunken Ron – originally portrayed by Rupert Grint in the Warner Bros movies – as he returned to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Holding a bottle of Jack Daniels, a ginger wig and a Gryffindor robe, Simon’s Ron wanted to wish his schoolfriend a happy 35th birthday.
Instead, he moans about his marital problems with Hermione Granger (Emma Watson’s character) and even threatens to show off his “Fifty Shades of Ginger”.
It was a return to form for Simon, who previously appeared on the show as a grown-up version of Ron in 2013 to try to sing Happy Birthday to Harry.
JK Rowling’s creation turns 35 on July 31, as the author herself celebrates her 50th birthday.
Fans of the books and the films have re-imagined other films in the Harry Potter world, ahead of the anniversary, with the hashtag #HarryPotterAMovie trending.
