Grey’s Anatomy fans have a new McDreamy replacement to ogle as hunky Martin Henderson has joined the show.
The 40-year-old actor bears an uncanny resemblance to Dr Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) –otherwise known as McDreamy.
Martin is expected to play a new surgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital and joins as a series regular, according to Deadline.
The original McDreamy was killed off in season 11, when he was declared brain dead after a car accident, devastating his many fans.
McDreamy 2.0 has already played a doctor in the 2011 series Off the Map, executive produced by Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.
The New Zealand born actor made his name in Kiwi soap opera Shortland Street before moving to the US.
Season 12 will be the first without original male lead Patrick, so Martin should help to fill the eye-candy void left by his exit.
Jason George, who plays Dr Ben Warren, has also been promoted to series regular for season 12.
