Sir Derek Jacobi may come across as a very serious actor, but Anne Reid has revealed he is a scream to work with.
The pair star as old flames who have rekindled their romance in hit BBC show Last Tango In Halifax.
And Anne told The Sun: “I thought Derek would be very grand but I take the mickey out of him all the time.
“He’s not grand at all or a name-dropper. I love him to pieces – the chemistry was immediate.”
But Derek, 76, revealed filming was thrown into chaos on the latest series of the show when he was badly injured on holiday.
He said: “I was on a veranda on holiday in the Maldives in the summer and fell and ruptured the quadriceps tendon in my leg.
“I was flown back home and I was in hospital for 12 weeks. I had to learn to walk again. I only threw away my stick yesterday!”
