Sally Bercow – the wife of the House of Commons Speaker – Strictly’s Ola Jordan, Heather Mills and Gogglebox tippler Dom Parker are among the contestants confirmed for daredevil show The Jump.
They will join Mike Tindall – the husband of Zara Phillips – and Mills, the ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney, in the Channel 4 series which sees well-known figures take on winter sports challenges.
The first series, staged earlier this year, led to a range of injuries among competitors with two of the four people in the final having to retire hurt.
Sally – married to MP John – is no stranger to TV and has previously appeared in Celebrity Big Brother as well as landing a Channel 5 series with Paddy Doherty.
Ola partnered TV wildlife expert Steve Backshall in the latest series of Strictly, but after they were eliminated from the show last month there was speculation she may choose to follow her husband James by leaving the BBC1 dance contest.
Also in the line-up for The Jump are US prankster Steve-O, who is known for his years in madcap series Jack Ass, ex-JLS star JB Gill, and choreographer and ex-Dancing On Ice judge Louie Spence.
The show also features a string of veterans from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, including former cricketer Phil Tufnell, one-time Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Joey Essex and singer Stacey Solomon.
Completing the line-up are Paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth, socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, heptathlete Louise Hazel and Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson.
The 16 contestants have already begun training for the show, which will see them put through their paces in events such as bobsleigh, slalom and ski cross.
But they will have to compete even to join the programme. Hopefuls will tackle a skeleton run, with the fastest racers directly qualifying while the others will be involved in a live ski jump. Those who achieve the shortest distances will have to sit out as substitutes.
Heather – who was divorced from Beatles star Sir Paul in 2008 – already has extensive experience on the slopes and has competed for Britain, winning a World Cup silver medal.
The former model, who lost a leg after she was hit by a police motorbike two decades ago, missed out on being considered for the Paralympic team for Sochi after a row about the type of specially-adapted boot she wished to use.
Last year’s winner Joe McElderry was only drafted into The Jump following an injury among the competitors, in a show that led to numerous health woes.
Past Winter Olympics stars Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards, Graham Bell, Amy Williams and Jenny Jones will be among the experts on hand for the show, which will be screened early next year.
