• THE heavy music scene in Bicester is becoming prolific, with gigs at The Courtyard attracting some very promising acts. Tomorrow evening is no exception, as local bands come together to support a promising new name in hard rock music, Hacktivist.   • If intimate folk music nights are more your thing, then this weekend will be a real treat. Start off by heading to the village hall in Finstock tomorrow night, where a folky evening will be accompanied by real ales and a warm atmosphere. A five-strong musical line-up is filled out by Susanna Starling and Norpwing, The Shady People, Jane and Colin, Henderson Hooper and, finally, some social dancing with the Finstock Scratch Ceilidh band.   • A similar event takes place at Tiddy Hall in Ascott-under-Wychwood on Saturday – Riverfolk will be a night of contemporary folk music and Americana, featuring headliners Chalice and support from local solo artists David Menday, Mark Pidgeon and Braham Levy.
