* A show by heart throb Peter Andre was always going to be a lively affair – and Oxford did not disappoint.

Lady admirers (and they were mostly women) flocked to the New Theatre to hear the Aussy reality TV star serenade the audience with old favourites, songs from new album Angels & Demons, and to hopefully catch a glimpse of that famous six pack.

But while the professional single dad may have been braced for a rousing welcome, it turned out to be sweeter than he could have imagined. Among those greeting our Pete were the good ladies of Oxford’s Happy Cakes, aka Julia Atkinson and Linda Williams, pictured, who had baked a tray of Angels & Demons cupcakes.

The Happy Cakes duo have previously baked for David Walliams and Gary Barlow – and our spy at the theatre tells us the Mysterious Girl singer was delighted with his treats.

As for the show: it was, we are told, better than expected, with a tribute to his adopted son Harvey, a Bon Jovi cover, vocal contributions from the Oxford Gospel Choir, and the obligatory attempted stage invasion by a desperate fan.

As for that six pack: Peter kept it firmly under wraps. Could that be a result of too many cupcakes before the show? Surely not.
