Hot on the heels of Henley Festival’s stellar announcement this morning, the 80s music-loving organisers of the neighbouring Rewind Festival have also revealed their 2018 line-up.

Kool & The Gang, OMD, Jason Donovan, Kim Wilde, Marc Almond, and Nik Kershaw are among those confirmed for the 1980s-themed celebration of sound, which takes place at Temple Island Meadows, Henley, from August 17-19.

Other blasts from the past at what will be the 10th anniversary of the nostalgia-fest, are Shalamar, Midge Ure, Chesney Hawkes, Odyssey, Billy Ocean, Howard Jones, The Orchestra Starring ELO former members, From The Jam, Jimmy Somerville and The Rewind Big Band, Heaven 17, Roland Gift, T’Pau, Wang Chung, Doctor & The Medics, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Paul Carrack, China Crisis, Roachford and Neville Staple.

Kim Wilde said: “I always look forward to the amazing Rewind audiences, still loving the 80s and making us all feel 21 again.

“Rewind has always made sure the audience comes first, and have created a safe and fun playground for families and people of all ages. The atmosphere at Rewind is the best I’ve ever experienced and I’m always so proud to be on stage singing with all the artistes whose records I still have in my vinyl collection.

“Happy 10 Years Rewind, you’ve done us all proud!”

Also happy to be joining in the birthday celebrations is Nik Kershaw. He said: “I’ve loved being part of the Rewind family and am thrilled to be performing at this year’s 10th anniversary gathering on Temple Island Meadows.

“Happy birthday Rewind. Let’s make it a big one!”

Carol Decker of T’Pau, is a long-term supporter of the event. She said: “In 2009 I performed at the very first ever Rewind Festival in Henley. It was so exciting to help launch a new festival celebrating the fantastic era T’pau were so much a part of.

“I live locally so it was a very special, personal experience. My children aged 10 and 7 at the time came on stage with me and waved to their school friends and neighbours.

“I am delighted to take the stage again to celebrate Rewind’s 10th anniversary.”

Organiser Katt Alexander said: “The Rewind team are really excited to stage the 10th edition of the festival with our fantastic crowd.”

Henley Festival, also held in the town, this morning revealed Rita Ora, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers' Chic and the English National Opera were among its headliners.
