SHOPPERS in Oxford are getting ready for the opening of a new Japanese-style chain restaurant Wasabi this autumn at the former Vodafone store on the Cornmarket Street junction with Market Street.

It will serve sushi and hot Japanese food, and as well as sushi there will also be hot food bento boxes featuring hearty Japanese classics like chicken katsu curry.

The Perch in Binsey is hosting its 4th Annual Beer & Cider Festival on September 3-4 with a weekend-long festival celebrating the best in local and regional brewing.

Expect a large selection of tasty ciders, a canopied marquee, large gardens, live music from Temple Funk Collective and dancing.

As a new addition to the festival this year, The Perch has teamed up with London-based Home Brew Depot to bring their "Brew School" home brew courses to Oxford for the first time. Course-goers will learn about the process of brewing, sample different styles of beer and even get to take some of their creation home with them.
