BETH Porter’s dreamy folk has not so much set the art world alight but tickled its belly and got it to roll over – tongue out and all.
This Bath artist and her every evolving band of Availables (so called, ahem, because they are so busy and can rarely all play a the same time) creates driving rhythms and laid-back melodies. And you will love them.
Tomorrow (Thursday) she and a six-piece of Availables play The Port Mahon, St Clement’s Oxford, for a night of electro-acoustic folk with a twist.

Even if you don’t recognise Beth by name, you’ve probably heard her craft - having more than 60 album credits to her name covering all genres, and with artists as diverse as Eliza Carthy and Kula Shaker.
Also up is West Country songwriter Tim Wary – who brings his Pavement/ Elliot Smith/ Sebadoh-esque alternative folk.
Doors open at 8pm, and tickets are £5 on the door.
