Things turn dark and dirty tonight when The Damned return to the Oxford O2 Academy.

More than three decades after they exploded on to the punk scene, Captain Sensible, Dave Vanian and co remain a must-see band, who veer seamlessly between raucous punk rock, B-movie horror schlock and camp comedy.

While they are pioneers, they are also true survivors – the first, and longest running UK punk band alive.

And no matter how many times you see them, they lose none of their appeal – so expect to see a hard-bitten crowd of devotees sporting Vanian-style vampire haircuts down at the front – chanting a chorus of obscenities at Captain Sensible, should he dare perform a rendition of his solo chart hit Happy Talking.

Highlights will be punk rock floor-fillers New Rose, Neat Neat Neat, Love Song and Smash It Up and pop classic Eloise.

Support comes from Texas Terri Bomb and Ed Tudor Pole. Doors open at 7pm.

Tickets are £15.50 from ticketweb.co.uk
