TOP comedian Jimmy Carr is among a glittering line up of stand-up stars set to bring laughter to what is being billed as the country’s first socially-distanced live event.
The PopUp Picnic in Poundon, near Bicester, next week, will see families eating, drinking and enjoying a safe day out while also chuckling to the likes of Matt Richardson, Hal Cruttenden, Andrew Maxwell and Jayde Adams.
Jimmy Carr is among the country's biggest comic acts. A star of Live at the Apollo and a regular guest on shows such as QI, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, he is also the presenter of TV shows 8 Out of 10 Cats and the spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Famed for his risqué and frequently politically-incorrect brand of off-colour humour, he will be performing his latest 75 minute stand-up show ‘Terribly Funny’.

Guests can grab a picnic blanket and book a ‘bubble’ for up to six people before enjoying live entertainment outdoors from some of the country’s leading acts in the safety of their own two-metre ‘safe zone’.
Held from July 21-26 July at Hill View Farm, each day will feature comedy acts, live music, mass karaoke sing-alongs – being dubbed ‘mass-i-oke’ – and more family-friendly fun.
Along with the comedy line-up, there will also be tribute acts of popular artists such as Adele, Ed Sheeran, Take That, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Picnic-goers can also enjoy an 80s party night wit music from UK band Bloomfield Avenue. There will also be a Family Hour with fun and games for hosted by The Perry Sisters.
Food will be provided by local suppliers with vegan and vegetarian options, as well as craft beer, ale, ciders, wine, spirits and cocktails from the bar.
To operate safely, all stands will be distanced and environmentally-friendly disposable plates and cutlery will be used.
PopUp Picnic’s Toby Darvill, said: “Most of us have been stuck indoors for the last four months, watching in desperation as our summer holiday and festival plans have been cancelled one after the other.

“It’s been truly heartbreaking and we’re on a rescue mission to change all that.
"We want to drag everyone out of the doldrums and get us all back where we belong this summer – in a field on a farm, enjoying great food, belly laughs and loads of fun with friends and family.
“Of course, we will be implementing strict social distancing measures to ensure the safety of all of our guests, including the two-metre safe zones around each bubble, social distancing measures in operation across the site, an abundance of free hand sanitiser stations, contactless payment and clearly marked one-way routes.
“Contact details will be taken to allow for track and trace if necessary and we will have staff on hand to ensure that social distancing etiquette is understood and followed.”
Free tickets will be made available for NHS workers and under-threes.
