Strong bill of local and up-and-coming bands revealed for 'Poshstock'
AN ECLECTIC line-up of bands, playing everything from jazz and blues to rock, pop and folk, has been unveiled by the organisers of Cornbury Festival.
Energetic, Oxford vintage jazz act The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, indie-rockers The Jacques and blues band King B headline the event's Riverside stage.
Other acts include Faringdon’s rising stars Brightworks, Oxford’s Dance À La Plage, Sam Taylor, Alphabet Backwards, Zurich, Les Clochards, Toliesel, Brickwork Lizards, The Standard and Robin and Joe Bennett’s Dreaming Spires on Sunday.
Also playing are foodie Loyd Grossman who stars with his band The New Forbidden.
"It's hard not to like Cornbury," Mr Grossman said. "An eclectic and exciting line up, a beautiful setting and terrific catering make it one of the UK's most stimulating and enjoyable festivals."
The newly announced artists join previously-announced acts Sir Tom Jones, Supertramp founder Roger Hodgson, Billy Ocean, Motown queen Martha Reeves and Chas & Dave.
The event, knicknamed 'Poshstock' for its Pimms bars, VIP areas and rarefied clientelle - David Cameron and the so-called Chipping Norton set are regular visitors - takes place at Great Tew Park from July 10-12.
