Italy is a huge wine producing country with a massive amount of regions producing wine. Here we have picked some classic favourites from famous regions to bring you a mixed case that really brings the country’s character to life. Italian wines work superbly with many foods and especially (as one would guess) pasta dishes.
The Best of Italy mixed case, priced at £64, (normal price £86.67), includes three bottles of each of the following four wines:
Catarrato Il Meridione 2012
Crisp refreshing white with hints of apples and pears that is a superb partner for fish and seafood pasta - or try it by itself as a perfect aperitif.
Pinot Grigio La Delfina 2012
Classic and very drinkable Pinot Grigio that has been a firm favourite for some time – never fails to satisfy.
Nero d’Avola Il Meridione 2011
A fresh and juicy red from the sun drenched vineyards of Sicily. Ripe black cherry and plum fruit with a hint of spice and smokiness – perfect with rich pasta dishes.
Chianti Volpetto 2011
Made from the Sangiovese grape and harvested in the Tuscan hills, this wine has flavours of black cherry with subtle touches of spice – a classic Chianti.
