Oxfordshire's best new music festival announces a fresh batch of names for summer weekender
Hot news from Truck Festival this afternoon, with organisers announcing a tranche of new bands to play this summer’s two-day feast of rock, pop, folk, blues, country and experimental music.
Fresh local talent and national names from the past are among those signed up for the popular gathering at Steventon, near Didcot, from July 19-20.
Oxfordshire acts Ags Connolly, Beta Blocker & the Body Clock, Duchess, King of Cats, Von Braun, Jordan O’Shea, Traps, Truly Ford, Elephant Shampoo and Grudle Bay play a new Veterans & Virgins stage hosted by BBC Introducing in Oxford.
Veterans, including Rachael Dadd, Ichi, Katy Rose & The Cavalry Parade and Co-Pilgrim, will join previous Truck favourites Electric Soft Parade, Fonda 500, Luke Smith and Thomas Truax.
Empty White Circles, Sam Green & the Midnight Heist, Pete Kosanovich, The Ramshackle Union Band, The Spare Room and Swindlestock will bolster a Clubhouse Records line-up in the Saloon, where they will be shown the ropes by The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, The Dreaming Spires, The Epstein, Society and Troubadour Rose.
Falls and Dallas Don’t have been chosen by Big Scary Monsters and Alcopop to join the Barn bill, while the main stage will see debut Truck performances by Arrows of Love, Lillian Todd Jones and Candice Gordon - who will keep things buzzing for headliners Spiritualized, Ash and The Horrors.
Truck festival tickets are £74 + booking fee from truckfestival.com
