Banbury Choral Society - Bach, 'St John Passion'

Bach 'St John Passion' is one of the most demanding works for a choir to deliver, but also very rewarding. The music is intensely dramatic with an overriding message of compassion, hope and ultimate salvation. This oratorio-Passion was first performed by Bach on Good Friday in Leipzig in April 1724.

Banbury Choral Society will perform this choral masterpiece under the baton of their Musical Director, Julian Harris, accompanied by the Oxford Sinfonia and soloists, Mollie Smith, soprano; Charlotte Collier, Alto; Christopher Willoughby, Tenor plus Bass and additional Tenor voices to be confirmed.

Tickets can be purchased on line from www.banburychoralsoc.co.uk or from the choir Box Office 07721 204734.
