House building firm Taylor Wimpey, which has been developing sites across the county, has revealed its finances are back in the black.

The company, which employs 107 staff working out of its Abingdon Business Park base, made a pre-tax profit of £65.7m for the year ending December 31 2011, compared to a pre-tax loss of £59.2m for 2010.

Chief executive Pete Redfern said: “While wider economic conditions remain uncertain, the UK has seen a period of continued stability in the underlying housing market and strong growth across a number of areas as shown by our order book.”

In the last year Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire has seen the opening of developments at Great Western Park in Didcot, Swinford Green in Eynsham, Kingsmere in Bicester, Orwell Grange in Sutton Courtenay and The Cross in Banbury.
