The Banbury branch of lingerie chain La Senza has closed with the loss of seven jobs after the business was taken into administration.
Administrator KPMG said it was among 84 stores and 18 concessions to be axed, resulting in more than half of the 1,300 workers losing their jobs.
Sixty other UK stores have been saved after they were bought by an Arabian retail group Alshaya, which owns stakes in a number of British retailers including Next, Debenhams and Mothercare.
But there was better news for staff at Black’s Leisure which operates four Millets camping stores in Oxford, Witney, Bicester and Banbury as well as a Blacks store in Oxford.
All have been bought out of administration by sportswear firm JD Sports Fashion which paid £20m for 290 outlets.
