Directors at Oxford United have launched a special new club designed to boost business involvement at the Kassam Stadium.

The Business Class networking club will offer corporate members “platinum benefits” including one of the best seats in the Kassam Stadium, a listing on the club website, discounts on conference facilities and a plaque to be displayed in the workplace highlighting the link with the club.

A networking club has also been set up and membership offers two places at events four times a year.

United’s chairman Kelvin Thomas said: “It is an opportunity for high-level business networking at football matches. And it can attract people who don’t feel they can take a corporate box but want to get involved with the football club.

“They can bring a client or someone from their company and meet other like-minded business people.”

The model is based on those used successfully by other clubs, some of which have 200 members.

Mr Thomas added: “We have not set any targets and we live in difficult times but this will definitely be attractive to some businesses. What we are trying to do is bridge the gap between season ticket holders and corporate box members.”

A new corporate season ticket has also been launched which gives businesses two season tickets, a listing on the club website and access to networking opportuinities.

Looking ahead to the new season, Mr Thomas said: “We are expecting to see an increase in season-ticket holders and attendances. We are very excited.”

Membership of Business Class costs £1,399 plus VAT for the season. Corporate season tickets range from £639 plus VAT for the East Stand to £799 plus VAT for the South Upper Stand.
