Union members working at supermarket giant Asda's distribution depot in Didcot have voted for strike action.

A ballot of GMB union members working at sites across the country showed more than 74 per cent in favour of a strike. Their leaders will meet today thursto decide whether to strike or pursue another form of industrial action.

The dispute is with management over collective bargaining and the non-payment of a bonus last year.

A total of 396 people work at the Didcot site, on the Southmead industrial estate, which does not have union recognition, although depots in other areas are recognised.

None of the staff at the Asda store in Wheatley are involved in the dispute.
