House prices in Oxfordshire have risen to their highest level for ten months.

Latest figures for October produced by the Government’s Land Registry show the average price of a property in the county stands at £224,772, the highest since last December.

The figure represents a 0.7 per cent rise on September, slightly ahead of the national average of 0.6 per cent and is the fifth consecutive month of price rises.

But prices are still 4.9 per cent lower than they were for October last year.

The average price of a property nationally is £159,546.
