VENTUREFEST, the annual science and technology fair for Oxfordshire businesses, will this year last only one day instead of the usual two.
A spokesman for the event, Jamie Bennett, told The Oxford Times that the new time-scale had nothing to do with the economic downturn.
She said: “Applications are in fact well up on this time last year. But one day suits busy people better than two, and since we have a bigger venue this year, at the Kassam Stadium, we decided to cut the event to one day.”
Last year the event was staged at Unipart in Cowley.
Venturefest, sponsored by organisations including Oxfordshire County Council, Brookes University, and Isis Innovation, allows entrepreneurs to meet venture capitalists and business people, educators and students. This will be Venturefest’s 11th year.
