OXFORD Immunotec’s T-Spot blood test for tuberculosis has been approved for use by doctors in France.
The French Ministry of Health and Social Affairs announced on June 22 that it had approved reimbursement from the country’s national health insurance system for use of the T-Spot test for screening of TB infection in at-risk populations. The reimbursement rate will be 60 Euros per test.
The company holds a number of contracts from the NHS to test new immigrants to the UK for TB.
Oxford Immunotec, which has laboratories at Milton Park develops and commercialises tests for diseases. It is currently working on tests for tick-borne conditions, such as Lyme disease.
