During the pandemic, at Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel, we took our role in supporting the local key workers very seriously.

With limited parking available at hospitals and health centres, we were pleased to continue providing our local healthcare heroes with a reliable and safe mode of transport. We’ve done everything possible to ensure cleanliness of our vehicles and to operate services as frequently as we could.

Throughout national lockdowns, we listened very carefully to our customers’ feedback, and several journeys requested by key worker customers were made a permanent fixture of timetables going forward. For some time, our award-winning airline coach service was also the only scheduled coach service that continued to operate to Heathrow airport to help transport key workers when all other operators had given up.

In January 2021, we expanded our services to the John Radcliffe Hospital, with new links from Barton and Didcot established.

As a local business, we truly appreciate the immense pressure that healthcare teams are under.
