OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Burford, Tanners Lane - Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 16 April 2018 - Coming into force: 23 April 2018 This Order is being introduced because of new sewer installation works which are anticipated to take 1 month to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Tanners Lane between Sheep Street and the eastern arm ofTanners Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic affected via Sheep Street, A361 High Street, A40 and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner (Ref: JaC/T5458)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Witney, Footpath 410/27 - Closure Date of Order: 27 April 2018 - Coming into force: 1 May 2018 This Order is being introduced to facilitate drainage works for the development to the north of Springfield Oval which is anticipated to take until the 23 May 2018 to complete. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the section of Footpath 410/27 to the east of the new development for a length of 120 meters.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The alternative route for pedestrians is via the footpath to Bathing Place Lane and Stenter Square and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner (Ref:T5612)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Witney, Bridleway 410/44 - Bridleway Closure Date of Order: 23 October 2017 - Coming into force: 30 October 2017 This Order was introduced because of construction works which are anticipated to take 6 months to complete. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily Bridleway 410/44 between Deer Park Road and Downs Road. The bridleway will remain open from Downs Road to Minster Lovell.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of bridleway. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. No alternative off-road route is available.
This Order, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport will remain in force until 31 August 2018 or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner (Ref: JaC/T5191)

Notice of new Temporary Traffic Order

Witney, Downs Road area &A40 -Temporary Traffic Prohibitions with change to speed limits Date of original order: 1 March 2018 - Came into force: 5 March 2018 Order replaced: 16 April 2018 An order was introduced for the construction of a new roundabout on the A40 dual-carriageway adjacent to Downs Road overbridge (enabling access to the West Witney Development) which is anticipated to take until October 2018 to complete. The effect of the Order is temporarily to introduce the following restrictions: 5 March-26 October 2018:
1). Sections of Downs Road & Main Road, Curbridge, Speed reduced to 30mph;
2). A40 Witney Bypass both carriageways - Speed reduced to 50mph then to 40mph overall
between the Minster Lovell junction and points east of the Downs Road overbridge. Further
variations to the speed limit will include reductions to 30mph as required for road narrowing
and safety purposes as work progresses.
(The A40 will at times be reduced to single running lanes).
3). Downs Road closure (south of Witney Lakes) 21 May - 6 July 2018;
4). A40 Bypass night closures 10pm to 6am from A415 Ducklington to Asthall roundabout:
Sunday 22nd July for barrier works; Friday 27th July; Saturday 28th July; Sunday 29th July; Monday 30th July for asphalt surfacing; Tuesday 31st July for white lining.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Downs Road closure is via Burford Road, Deer Park Road, A4095 Bampton Road & vice-versa.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the A40 closure is via the A415 to Witney, A4095 to the B4047 Burford Road, to Asthall and vice versa.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Witney and Various Parishes, A40 and Downs Road Area) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Speed Reductions) Order 2018 made 1 March 2018 is revoked/replaced.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner (Ref: T5325/AC)

NEW YATT ROAD (NORTH LEIGH) - PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING SPEED CUSHIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to construct on New Yatt Road in North Leigh (Witney) the following traffic calming measures under the Highways Act 1980 and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
* Pairs of speed cushions (with each cushion approximately: 1.6m wide, 3.7m long, 75mm high and with a gradient of 1:8) at the following approx. locations:
A) 75m south-west of its junction with Green Lane
B) 145m south-west of its junction with Green Lane
C) 1190m south-west of its junction with Green Lane

(*All dimensions are approximate, taken from the centre of the junction to the centre of the feature) Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting: https://consultations.oxfordshire.gov.uk, or in person at County Hall, Oxford, OX1 1ND, between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday; and at and atWODCTown Centre Shop, 3 Welch Way, Witney, OX28 6JH, from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, and from 9am to 5pm Fridays. Objections to the proposal, specifying the grounds on which they are made and any other representations should be sent in writing to the address below no later than 18 May 2018. The County Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
