1. OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (WITNEY AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20** 2. (OXFORDSHIRE 7.5 TONNE MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT
RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO.6*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council
proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect
of the orders, in response to local development, to reduce
HGV through traffic, and for road safety reasons is as follows:
1) To introduce 40mph speed limits on:
a) A4095 Curbridge Road from Deer Park roundabout to
a point south of the A40 overbridge; and
b) Downs Road, from the existing 30mph limit near
Witney Lakes Resort through to Main Road T-junction,
Curbridge; and also the access link roads to/from the
new (under construction) A40 roundabout;
2) To introduce a 50mph speed limit on:
a) the A40 dual-carriageway encompassing the areas
of Downs Road overbridge and the new roundabout,
a distance of approximately half a mile.
All the above lengths of road are currently subject to National
speed limits.
3) To introduce a 7.5 tonne maximum weight restriction
(except for access) on:
a) the B4047 Burford Road from Downs Road, Witney to
the A40 Asthall roundabout; and
b) the B4477 Brize Norton Road, Minster Lovell from the
B4047 Burford Road, southwards the A40 slip road.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Witney Area) (Speed Limits)
Order 2017 will be revoked/replaced, and the Oxfordshire
County Council (Oxfordshire 7.5 tonne Maximum Gross
Weight Restriction) Order 2007, shall be further amended
accordingly.

1ND, between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday; and at and
at WODC Town Centre Shop, 3 Welch Way, Witney, OX28 6JH,
from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, and from 9am to
5pm Fridays.
Objections to the proposal, specifying the grounds on which
they are made and any other representations should be sent
in writing to the address below no later than 04 May 2018.
The County Council will consider objections and
representations received in response to this Notice. They may
be disseminated widely for these purposes and made

(ASCOTT, MILTON AND SHIPTON-UNDER-WYCHWOOD
PARISHES) (SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council
proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
The effect of the order, due to road safety concerns by
Shipton Under Wychwood Parish Council, is to extend the
30mph speed limit on the A361 Station Road a point 146
metres northeast of the rail bridge replacing the existing
40mph speed limit.
For administrative reasons only, the Shipton order will be
combined with the (Milton-Under-Wychwood Parish) (Speed
Limits) Order 2002 and Ascott restricted roads and will be
revoked/replaced.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Burford, Tanners Lane –
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 16 April 2018 –
Coming into force: 23 April 2018
This Order is being introduced because of new sewer
installation works which are anticipated to take 1 month to
complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit
any vehicle proceeding in Tanners Lane between Sheep
Street and Barn Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be
displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the
works and for access to premises which are only accessible
from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic affected via Sheep Street,
A361 High Street, A40 and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of
18 months or until the works have been completed whichever
is the sooner. (Ref JaC/T5458)
