THE OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BICESTER) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) (AMENDMENT NO.16) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 26 March 2018 Oxfordshire
County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The order
which comes into force on 2 April further amends The
Oxfordshire County Council (Bicester) (Traffic Regulation)
Order 1992. The order introduces new and/or extends existing
waiting prohibitions as follows:
1) Prohibition of Waiting at Any Time (Double Yellow Lines
– DYLs) in these roads:
Buckingham Road – covering the junctions with Brashfield
Road and Churchill Road;
Brashfield Road – north side from Buckingham Road
westwards for 40 metres and south side from Buckingham
Road westwards for 100 metres;
Shakespeare Drive – from Howes Lane to beyond Browning
Close and into the junctions with Browning Close and Dryden
Avenue; also covering the junctions with Blenheim Drive,
Burns Crescent, Tay Gardens and Brook Road, and covering
the junction of Brook Road and Swift Close;
Dryden Avenue – covering the junctions with Derwent Road
and Trent Crescent;
Blake Road – between Banbury Road and Brashfield Road
on the south side and at the junction with Woodfield Road;
and on the north side covering the junctions with Taylor Close
and Brashfield Road;
Mallards Way – from Wren Way along both sides of the
shrub islands as far as No.76; and on the south side between
London Road and Wren Way (replacing the existing length of
No Waiting 8am-6pm Monday - Saturday);
Kings Avenue – covering the junctions with Evenlode Close,
Cherwell Close, Fox Lane, & Finchley Lane;
Fox Lane – east side from Kings Avenue northwards for 63 metres;
Finchley Lane – west side from Kings Avenue southwards
for 55 metres;
Granville Way – the full length of road, except for proposed
car and van only parking spaces specified in 6) below;
Bardwell Terrace – short extension opposite junction with
Bernwood Road (west);
Woodfield Road – extending from Buckingham Road
westwards in front of Nos.1 to 7 and around the grass island.
(It is proposed to relocate the Disabled Parking Bay to outside
Hunt Close – the entire road;
Bucknell Road – west side from Crockwell Close northwestwards
to opposite No.14 Bucknell Road; and a short section
outside Nos.6 & 8 Bucknell Road (except for *1 below).
2). No Waiting 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday only as
*2 Bardwell Terrace – short reduction opposite junction with
Bernwood Road (west);
Sheep Street – outside Nos.88 to 90 (in place of existing DYLs).
3). To introduce No Waiting 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday
*1 Bucknell Road – east side from outside No.4 to junction
with Stoneburge Crescent.
4). To introduce No Waiting 11 - 12 noon Monday to Friday
only as follows:
Brashfield Road – north side from a point 40 metres west of
Buckingham Road westwards for 60 metres.
Kings Avenue – south side between the junctions of Finchley
Lane and Bourne Close, and Bourne Close and Colne Close,
and westwards from Colne Close for 20 metres.
5). To introduce No Waiting 12 - 1pm Monday to Friday
only as follows:
Kings Avenue – north side between the junctions of Fox
Lane and Cherwell Close, and west of the junction of
Evenlode Close for 20 metres.
6). To introduce parking places for *3 permitted vehicles
only 24 hours all days as follows in Granville Way north
side, comprising a length of 55metres, and on the south
side comprising 2 lengths of 30 metres and 60 metres
(*3 permitted vehicles means – a motor vehicle not
exceeding 2.25 tonnes, 2 metres high, 5 metres long, and
2 metres wide).
The earlier proposals to prohibit waiting in the following
roads are being considered further and will not be in place at
Almond Road, Bardwell Road, Bernwood Road, Campbell
Close, Chichester Close, Hamilton Close, Maple Road, Rowan
Road, Withington Road.
The Bucknell Road proposal for No Waiting 8.00am to
6.00pm Monday to Saturday, northeast side are also currently
If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any
provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within
the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of
any instrument made under it has not been complied with
in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from the
12 February 2018 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
