PROPOSED 20MPH SPEED LIMIT SOUTH-EAST CROYDON (AREA 4)

The Croydon (20mph Speed Limit) (No.1) Traffic Order 2018

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 08 January 2018 made the above Order under Sections 84, 87 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.



2. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle exceeding a speed of 20 miles per hour In the area described In Schedule 1 to this Notice, excluding the roads bounding the area (as specified) and those roads/sections of roads within the boundary listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice. Roads within the boundary of the new area to which an existing 20mph speed limit applies will continue to retain their speed limits under their respective Orders.



3. Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 15 January 2018, and of all associated Orders can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the "Access Croydon" Facility, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CRO 1EA.



4. Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Parking Design Team, 6th Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CRO 1EA.



5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14, AS AMENDED TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC -RUSSELL HILL PLACE, PURLEY

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate electrical connection works by UK Power Networks they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Russell Hill Place, Purley.



2. During the works Russell Hill Place will be closed to vehicular traffic at the rear of No. 956 Brighton Road, between its junction with Russell Hill Road and a point 15 metres north-east of that junction.



3. During the prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above, displaced traffic will be diverted via Russell Hill Road, Pampisford Road, and Brighton Road as appropriately signed.



4. The Order will come into operation on the 26 January 2018 and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within three days. However the Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months to enable it to be reintroduced should further works be required.



(Note: The provisions of the Order will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Access for frontagers will be maintained as far as possible whilst the work proceeds).
