Bletchingdon, Kirtlington And Shipton-On-Cherwell Areas, Multiple Traffic Notices of Speed Restrictions

(BLETCHINGDON, KIRTLINGTON AND SHIPTON-ON-CHERWELL AREAS) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2022
NOTICE is given that on 16 May 2022 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
The order, which comes into force on 23rd May brings in the following changes:
1. a 20mph speed limit throughout Kirtlington village roads (with the existing 30mph speed limit being replaced) leading out to the following points:
a. A4095 Heyford Road - 325 metres north of its junction with Park Close (this extends 55 metres further than the existing 30mph limit),
b. A4095 Oxford Road (signed as Station Road) -152 metres west of its junction with Bletchingdon Road,
c. Bletchingdon Road - 134 metres south of its junction with Gossway Fields,
d. Mill Lane - at the point it ceases to be a classified road at its junction with the western leg of Crowcastle Lane.
2. Thereafter, 40mph 'buffer' speed limits on the village approaches, extending outwards from the 20mph limit replacing the existing 60mph National Speed Limit as follows:
a. A4095 Heyford Road - northwards to its junction with Akeman Street,
b. Portway (part A4095) - from Akeman Street northwards for a distance of 553 metres,
Bletchingdon Road - southwards for a distance of 370 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Bletchingdon, Kirtlington and Shipton-On-Cherwell Areas) (Speed Limits) Order 2020 is revoked/replaced.
