(OXFORD CENTRAL AREA - TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (ST MICHAEL STREET) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2022

(OXFORD CENTRAL AREA - TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (ST MICHAEL STREET) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2022
NOTICE is given that on 14 February 2022 Oxfordshire County Council made the above experimental order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of this order, which comes into force on 2 March 2022 is to continue in force the temporary measures introduced under the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, St Michael Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles) Order 2020 and the Traffic Orders Procedure (Coronavirus) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020.
The Experimental Order comes into force on 2 March and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months. If the provisions of this experimental Order are made permanent the measures will be incorporated into The Oxfordshire County Council (The City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003 which will be further amended accordingly. This Order contains provisions allowing the Director for Communities/Environment and Place to modify or suspend the Order or any provisions of the Order (if appropriate) in accordance with Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of an order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation within a period of 6 months (a) beginning with the day on which the experimental Order comes into force (2 March 2022) or (b) if that Order is varied by any order made by the Council or modified by the Director for Communities/ Infrastructure Delivery of the Council pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification comes into force. If you wish to question the validity of the experimental Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within 6 weeks from 14 February 2022 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
