Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Benson, Old Icknield Way Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 28 February 2022 Coming into force: 4 March 2022 This Order is being introduced because of internet cable installation works which is anticipated to take 8 days to complete working 8am to 5pm. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in most of Old Icknield Way. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Clacks Lane - Old London Road - Oakley Wood (A4130) and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref. (EAST HAGBOURNE) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE IS GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, following road safety concerns raised by the Parish Council, is to introduce a 20mph speed limit replacing the existing 30mph speed limit on various roads within East Hagbourne as follows.

1. Main Road - from a point 50 metres south west of its junction with the Didcot - Blewbury road (B4016) (west of the War Memorial triangle) westwards to a point 50 metres west of its junction with Manor Farm Lane,

2. Harwood Road - in its entirety,



3. The Croft - from its junction with Wilcher Close, westwards to its junction with Harwood Road

6. Kingsholme Close - in its entirety.



The Oxfordshire County Council (East Hagbourne) (Speed Limits) Order 1999 will be revoked/replaced. Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting:

Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made and any other representations, may be sent in writing to the address below, or via the web address above, no later than 18 March 2022. The County Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. (Ref.
