NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND
STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 The Oxfordshire County Council, Weston-on-the-Green Footpath No. 2 (part), Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2021 On 21st December 2021, the Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting Weston-on-the-Green FP No. 2 running from FP 3 south of Church Lane at OS Grid Ref SP 5312018512, south-south-westwards for 178m to OS Grid Ref SP 53054 18347 to a new line running from FP 3 south of Church Lane at OS Grid Ref SP 53131 18495 south-south-westwards for 167m to OS Grid Ref SP 53054 18347 where it re-joins the unaffected length of FP 2, as shown on the Order map.
It is not possible to view the Order at local council offices as they are temporarily closed due to the COVID19 pandemic. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be:-

The Order came into force on the date of confirmation but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within six weeks from 13th January 2022 make an application to the High Court.
