(WANTAGE) (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 20**
NOTICE Is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - due to continued residential development is to:
1) to introduce a Bus Gate restriction on Elder Way between its junctions with the A417 Reading Road & Appletons, a distance of approximately 45 metres. Exempted vehicles will include buses, pedal-cycles & taxis.
2) Introduce a 'No Right Turn' restriction onto Elder Way for vehicles travelling south-westwards on the A417 Reading Road. Exempted vehicles will include buses, pedal-cycles & taxis.
3) Introduce a 'No Left Turn' restrictions as follows:
a. onto Elder Way for vehicles travelling north-eastwards on the A417 Reading Road. Exempted vehicles will include buses, pedal-cycles & taxis.
b. onto Elder Way for vehicles travelling south-westwards on Appletons. Exempted vehicles will be pedal-cycles.
4) The existing one-way restriction within the opposite layby adjacent to the A417 will remain and be incorporated into the new order.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Wantage) (Traffic Regulation) Order 1994 (as amended) and the Oxfordshire County Council (Lockinge Parish, Wantage) (A417 Lockinge Layby) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2019 will be revoked and replaced. Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to tie address below by the 11 February 2022.
