Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the
Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction Hanson Quarry Products Europe Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017. The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata comprising limestone at Ingleton Quarry, Ingleton, Bentham, North Yorkshire between the following National Grid References: SD 70445 74302; SD 70765 73998; SD 70658 73846; and SD 70327 74135. The application is to abstract water as follows:
* 13 cubic metres an hour ? 130 cubic metres a day
* 32,400 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for mineral washing and dust suppression all year round.
Further details are: this existing abstraction was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991.
