Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction Canal & River Trust have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017. The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from the River Frome atWhitminster, Gloucestershire at National Grid Reference SO 76039 08783, to transfer to the Stroudwater Canal at National Grid Reference SO 76003 08760 without intervening use. Abstraction will take place all year round. Further details are: this existing abstraction is a transfer for the purpose of navigation authority operations and was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991.
