Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the
Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction
Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application
in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources
Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction
(Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water
from the River Thames near Buckland, Faringdon, Oxfordshire
at National Grid References SU 34969 99836 and
SP 36650 00342 to transfer it to the Chimney Meadows
Nature Reserve at the given National Grid References
without intervening use.
Abstraction will take place all year round.
Further details are: this existing abstraction is a transfer
for the purpose of wet fencing and nature conservation
and was previously exempt from the need for a licence
under the Water Resources Act 1991.
