Middle Aston Bridleway 7 and Somerton Bridleway 5 Closure to Horses only
Date of closure: 5 June 2017 Order made: 12 June 2017 The order was introduced to close parts of Middle Aston Bridleway 7 and Somerton Bridleway 5. Inspection revealed advanced surface deterioration which necessitates remedial work. The effect of the order, when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, is to prohibit horses only from being ridden or lead in those parts of the Bridleways eastwards from the junction with Middle Aston Footpath 8 to the River Cherwell, National Grid Ref. SP48562772 to SP48782769. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for access to property which is only accessible from the closed Sections of Bridleways.
The alternative route is via Middle Aston Bridleway 7 along Middle Aston Road to North Aston, the Somerton Road to Somerton; and towards Upper Heyford until reaching Somerton Bridleway 5, and vice versa.
