ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1), (5) AND (7) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Piddington, Lower End,Arncott Road & Thame Road Prohibition of Through Traffic and 30mph Speed Limit Date of Order: 10 June 2019 Coming into force: 17 June 2019 This Order is being introduced because of Thames Waterworks which are anticipated to take 12 weeks overall to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the following sections Road: 17 June, Lower End north of Arncott Road for 6 weeks
17 July, eastern end of Arncott Road for 3 weeks
31 July, Thame Road between Arncott Road and Ludgershall Road for 3 weeks. The 50mph speed limit will also be reduced to 30mph at the B4011/Thame Road crossroads south of the roadworks, which includes part of the diversion affecting the B4011. The relevant art of the Oxfordshire County Council (B4011 Ambrosden to Boarstall, Cherwell District) (50 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2007 shall be suspended for the duration of the Works.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Lower End - A41 - Station Road - Thame Road - B4011 -Thame Road and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of
18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner (Ref: T6577, T6578 & T6579/MR)
