Lemurs prove the focus of attention

PHOTO-FRIENDLY ring tailed lemurs enjoyed posing in the sunshine for students at the Cotswold Wildlife Park.

The cheeky mammals, a hit with visitors to the Burford park, provided budding photographers from the Abingdon and Witney College with a challenging new subject.

Dariusz Podolski, from Headington, was one of the students honing his skills at the park yesterday.

The 30-year-old, pictured right taking photos of some of the lemurs, said: “The light was really lovely for pictures.

“I stayed for a whole hour there after the session finished. It was a new experience to take pictures of the wildlife.”

Will, a one-year-old ring tailed lemur, pictured above, particularly enjoyed the limelight.

Curator Jamie Craig said: “The lemurs are a favourite with visitors because our exhibit is a walk-through experience.

“Lemurs are quite inquisitive – particularly when they see a photographer with lots of equipment.

“They have a real interest in what’s going on and often look almost like they are posing for a photo.”
