BARRETT Maggie Sunrise: 18th March 1940 in London Sunset: 16th May 2022 in Oxford Beloved wife of David, much-loved mum of Nigel and Leigh, proud Nanny of five adoring grandchildren and treasured friend to many. Funeral service for invited guests will take place at 2pm on Monday 30th May 2022 at North Oxfordshire Crematorium, Tackley, Oxon, OX5 3ER. Family flowers only. I’ve only just seen this and am very sad

I worked for John Durham as a driver back in the day and later his son Peter. I had the pleasure of this lady’s company 6 days a week some weeks and would’ve made it 8 if I’d have been asked.

All the lads loved our Maggie and would’ve done anything for her, a diamond xx

My beautiful Mum. Your bravery, wisdom, humour and trademark no-nonsense approach has humbled me over the past 4.5 months. You wrote this death notice back in February, just leaving me to fill in the missing gaps. You fought on much longer than the medical profession thought you would, and only slipped away when you'd said, seen and done all you needed and wanted to. You saw me into this world, and I saw you out of it... it was an honour to do that. The end was peaceful and calm, and as I held your hand and stroked your hair, I hope you could hear me tell you how proud I am of you, how lucky I am to be your daughter, how you've left a handprint on many hearts, and how loved you are. So, SO loved. Love you always Mum. "Nighty night, loves you, see you in the morning..."
