I READ the letter from Bernadette Downes (ViewPoints, July 10) about the Excelsior Café.
On my wedding day, I was ready for church, but my husband-to-be, along with his father, brother and two friends were missing.
They turned up, eventually, and it appears they were having dinner at the Excelsior. They also managed to eat the meal at the reception!
This happened in July 1952.
