Project should be subject to extensive discussions

IN reference to the correspondence regarding Holy Trinity Quarry Church that appeared in the Oxford Mail on July 4, I would say that, together with most people I know, I am not in favour of the drastic changes proposed concerning the extension of internal alterations.

For instance, the pews are an important factor in creating a traditional atmosphere conducive to worship and an extension will drastically change the vision as planned by the architect, Sir Gilbert Scott.

The whole project should be subject to extensive discussions with all concerned in this matter.

Incidentally, I have been going to church for the last 70 years, on and off.
