SINCE my recent letter about physiotherapy shortages in West Oxfordshire, it has come to my notice that the situation is going to get drastically worse in the future.

The current elderly population in West Oxfordshire is around 106,000 residents.

This figure is forecast to increase by 74 per cent over the next 10 years.

That means an elderly population increase of around 78,440, bringing the total in West Oxfordshire to above 200,000.

If this present Government, with its current attitude to NHS services is still in power, then the present physiotherapy service will need a massive improvement to deal with the probable injuries to the elderly.
