We are still paying for MPs to live in luxur

WE have been hearing rather a lot recently about a cap on benefits, and headlines have told us that 500,000 recipients are likely to lose their Incapacity Benefit.

There is no doubt that there is a certain amount of abuse in the benefit system, just as there was abuse in the MPs’ expenses system until thankfully exposed by a national newspaper.

However, we hear no mention of a cap on MPs’ benefits and, if what we hear is true, they are fighting to resist attempts to impose tighter control over them.

It seems that the long-suffering taxpayer is still paying for their second homes, the furnishing of them and for their maintenance.

As if to rub salt into the wounds, we now learn that each MP is to have an iPad paid for by – guess whom?

Right first time – us! I remember when I was a young apprentice, I had to buy my tools of the trade with my own money.

With all the benefits which they receive, what on earth do MPs use their salaries for?

That's a good question, Gordon.
They go on about not being able to afford to do many things because of the economic situation, so they don't need these toys. The world will not stop and they can still tell fibs and give out misinformation if they don't have them. They say that they cannot afford to pay all pensioners worldwide the annual uprated pension because of it (which is actually a lie) , so they continue to discriminate and deny just 4% of them and seem to think that this is just and proper. It does make one wonder about their intelligence quotient.

After this summers Olympic games all MP's should be offered the chance of accommodation at the Olympic village and use the facilities there for conferencing and dinning or shelling out of their own pockets for their own place and meals. No further housing expenses to be given, no further maintenance fee's repairs etc, the savings would be enormous. We have to make do with cut backs, and so should they. Shuttle buses to and from Westminster to do away with all the ministerial cars etc. No I Pads, make them do with their own net books or laptops the same as everyone else. Time to practice what they preach, and all non business phone calls should be barred so they have to use their own mobiles same as everyone else, and they pick up the bill. they want us to do the austerity thing, then, so should they, don't forget, we are all in this together, but obviously some more than others.
Time for Double Dip Dave and Orrible Osbourne to sort it all out once and for all, eat cake? we can't afford it, but we can guillotine these guys at the next election.
