Thanks for your votes

COULD I thank all your readers who used their vote last week, especially those who voted for the Labour Party?

Labour has run an efficient city council, building more homes, keeping streets cleaner and providing new playgrounds and all within a sharply reduced carbon footprint.

We have even found money which will improve children’s performance in school, create new cycle routes and support youth clubs.

Labour promises hundreds of extra private and public homes at Barton, higher standards in shared housing across the city, anti-noise patrols and a brand new swimming pool at Blackbird Leys.

We will also do our best to protect Oxford people from the worst effects of coalition cutbacks. We can only do these things because people vote for us.

So a big thank you to all the voters out there.

JOHN TANNER Executive member for a Cleaner, Greener Oxford City Councillor for Littlemore County Councillor for Isis

Had I voted for the Parties who showed little or no interest in the voters locally, now that would have been wasted... Marston were the 3rd highest voting ward in the City & Mick Haines still wiped the floor with the rest... expect Council Meetings to be lively from now on !!!
