Afghan war unwinnable

I agree with K Hill (Oxford Mail ViewPoints, April 18) that we should bring home the troops from Afghanistan.

The huge amount of money saved could support bereaved families. There are about 450 children left with a single parent due to the Iraq and Afghan wars.

More help is needed for soldiers surviving life-changing injuries.

Secondly, possibly more help is required to resettle forces personnel into civilian life.

There are many individuals homeless or in prison. Many turn to drugs or alcohol.

I feel we are fighting a long, unwinnable war in Afghanistan.

It is nice to hear a voice of sanity from K. Hill and nice to hear someone else agreeing with him.
This interminable war is getting a bit like Brave New World. "And the chocolate ration has just been increased from 20 grams to fifteen grams..."
