Scooter users views?

I am a scooter user and would like to find out if other scooter users are having the same problems as I do on a daily basis.

Pavements; accessing buses; rudeness of the public when they see a scooter; being treated like a brain-dead person when seen on a scooter; cars parked across pavements.

We need the council to hear our concerns, listen to what we think the changes should be.

We have a scooter because of an illness, we have a scooter to give us greater independence.

This is restricted in the Oxford area and I am sure further afield as well.

So, can I ask that if there are people out there with feelings as strong as mine, I would be interested to hear from you.

I take it you have a mobility scooter as opposed to a motor scooter, ie:Lambretta or such like, but you don't make that plain from the outset.

Cars parked across pavements are breaking the law and you should ring the police and state your circumstance and ask for assistance, then make an allegation about the parked car so they have to process a prosecution. Photographic evidence of persistent offenders may help, and send it by recorded delivery to the police and ask for a written reply. Ask for your neighbourhood/commun
ity bobby to come to your home to discuss your grievances and ask for his help, that is what they are there for. Keep pushing and don't give up. One of my neighbours used to park across the pavement regularly, until I started walking across his bonnet, he soon parked his car on the road or on his drive properly as space was never an issue, only him being bone idle.
