How we can all help to end drought

NO NEED to go over the obvious ins and outs of why we end up without a water storage system, as yet more concrete is laid to hurry rainwater even faster to the rivers, then out to the sea.

No, we want a sensible cure to the drought, which is rain – simple of course. Everybody can help.

Who was it who said, and I quote: “We are all in this together”?

So, here we go: We all have barbecues, outside of course, each evening.

We have church and village fetes every other day.

We have as many weddings as possible, even if some of us get married twice.

We have grand shows, eg Thame Show, steam fairs, at least 10 times a year, and many more such events.

Air shows are a magnet for rain. Having taken part in hundreds, I should know.

Well, that’s given you, the reader, some ideas. Now you can get those hoses out.

No, never meant that last bit. Too many echoes of petrol – you know what I mean!
